Review Risks of Virtual Care

Virtual Care (ie. digital video visits or telephone visits) has some inherent privacy and security risks that your health information may be intercepted or unintentionally disclosed. We want to make sure you understand this before we proceed. In order to improve privacy and confidentiality, you should also take steps to participate in Virtual Care in a private setting, use an encrypted email service if available, and you should not use an employer’s or someone else’s computer/device as they may be able to access your information.

If it is determined you require a physical exam you may still need to be assessed in person.

You should also understand that virtual care is not a substitute for attending the Emergency Department if urgent care is needed.

Follow these instructions:

Step 1

Make sure you have a valid OHIP or RAMQ card.

You can renew your OHIP card at Service Ontario

Step 2

Click on the button to Open up a the portal in a new window.
You can always come back to this window for more instructions.

Or you can download the TELUS CHR connect app (please note that this is not working for all patients

Step 3

  1. Enter the numbers and letters on your Health Card – No spaces or dashes
  2. When prompted, select email and enter your email. Wait 15 seconds and check your email for the code.
  3. If the system is not allowing you to book, there may be a problem where the name on your health card is different from what is on our files. Go to the Information section after you log in and ensure your name and sex are EXACTLY as they appear on your health card. Make sure that your first, middle and last name are the same. Delete any spaces between dashes.
  4. If it is still not working, Call our office at (613) 366-7557 and we will help you through it.
  5. When you book a VIRTUAL APPOINTMENT, you can choose a Video Visit or a Phone Appointment.
  6. When you book an in person visit and you don’t see any future dates to book, make sure you are choosing “In-Office A” as the visit type.

Step 4

Choose your appointment type and time.

You’ll get an email confirmation and reminder.

If you chose a “Virtual Visit”, here are some additional instructions.

For in-person appointments, we still recommend you wear a mask, particularly if you are sick.

We recommend that your mask be the N-95 type, rather than a procedure/surgical mask.

If you need an in-person appointment, and none are available, please call our office and leave a message with your request and the reason for the in-person appointment.
